RESILCROPS relies on natural biostimulants derived from algae and microorganisms to protect crops against biotic and abiotic stresses
RESILCROPS falls under the blue and green environment priority, under which 13 projects with an estimated value of €31.6 million were approved.
RESILCROPS will boost crop resilience in the Atlantic region through the circular economy.
Invest in natural biostimulants derived from algae and microorganisms to protect crops from the consecuences of climate change.

This European initiative promotes transnational cooperation to address shared challenges in the Atlantic region. With European funding, RESILCROPS will have a total budget of €2.6 million.

These innovative and sustainable solutions will help protect crops from stress factors such as pests, droughts, or extreme temperature changes, while contributing to a circular economy.

Furthermore, by addressing the specific challenges of each region, RESILCROPS will enable the Atlantic area to adapt to climate change and ensure a secure and sustainable food supply for the future.

The RESILCROPS consortium is made up of partners from four Atlantic countries: Spain, Portugal, France and Ireland. Nine beneficiaries are participating, including eight universities and research centres and the French company Polymaris, which specialises in marine biostimulants. On behalf of Spain, in addition to IPNA-CSIC, which is co-leading the project next to the Institute of Dairy Products of Asturias (IPLA-CSIC), the University of La Laguna (ULL) and are also participating. Furthermore, the Cabildo de Tenerife, Banco Español de Algas and the agricultural organisation COPLACA are collaborating as associate partners.
In the presentation to the Interreg programme, CIDIHUB, the Canary Islands Digital Innovation Centre promoted by the European Commission, accompanied IPNA-CSIC in the preparation and presentation of the RESILCROPS proposal. CIDIHUB provided technical and strategic assistance throughout the process, consolidating a proposal aligned with regional priorities for sustainability and innovation.
